Written by LS Admin | Oct 25, 2018

THE PLACE TO BE

LeadingAge Annual Meeting & Expo is the largest event in aging services, and we wouldn’t miss it for the world. LeadingAge is well known as the trusted voice for aging, and this event’s mission is to help “dedicated professionals to exchange ideas, explore new strategies and master the latest best practices all while reigniting your commitment and dedication…to better serve our country’s older adults and best prepare for the upcoming changes in our field.” Sounds perfect!

HEADLINERS

The meeting will kick off with some 90s nostalgia via a concert by the Gin Blossoms, and quickly get down to business with keynote speakers Frances Frei and Annie Leibovitz. Ms. Frei is a professor at Harvard Business School who does research into how leaders create the context for organizations and individual to thrive. She will be discussing building trust and improving organizational culture. Ms. Leibovitz’s talk is called “Capturing the Beauty of Aging,” and is presented as part of LeadingAge’s ongoing vision of an America free of ageism.

THE MEAT AND POTATOES

Of course LeadingAge will be offering continuing educational opportunities as well. Lots of them in fact. This year’s event will provide over 150 educational sessions in areas such as aging service technologies, growth and mission advancement, holistic well-being, living well with dementia, marketing, public policy, leadership development, and senior living design, among others.

THE BEST PART

Hard to believe - but it gets even better. Not one, not two, but FOUR LeaderStat staff members will be attending this year’s LeadingAge expo.

If you’ve been a loyal blog reader you know our Director of Business Development, Kendra Nicastro, never misses an industry conference. This year she is particularly looking forward to the “Day in the Life” exhibition that uses virtual reality to immerse the attendee in a day in the life of a senior resident.

Jon Sammons is responsible for the Premier Division of LeaderStat’s retained search services. He has managed more than 150 national retained searches in healthcare and has developed relationships far and wide in the industry. He’ll be looking forward to forging more at this expo.

Speaking of professional relationships, Jordan Farmer, Director of Interim Services for LeaderStat, focuses on developing new client relationships nationwide, and has over 300 clinical and operational placements at the front line and executive levels. Stop by the booth to see whether Jon or Jordan can shake your hand first.

Jami Brett is responsible for LeaderStat’s post-acute care and senior living executive-level and nurse management placement in Pennsylvania, the Mid-Atlantic, Great Lakes, Midwest and Northeast Regions. Philadelphia is right in her neck of the woods and she’ll be happy to get know you over coffee and a cheesesteak.

HELP US HELP YOU

Kendra, Jon, Jordan, and Jami know that meetings like these can be exhausting and overwhelming. Maybe you won’t feel like you have enough energy to walk the expo hall. Come on by booth 1737 anyway. They are friendly, they love meeting new people, and they are interested in knowing more about you and your professional goals. Considering changing jobs, or trying to fill an important staff position? Meeting one of them could be the first step towards achieving your goal. Plus, they will bring goodies – daily giveaways and a chance to win a Bose wireless speaker.

Attending annual industry conferences such as the LeadingAge Annual Meeting & Expo is a great way to contribute to the advancement of the senior living industry and find opportunities to advance your career. Come visit us and let LeaderStat help you get started doing just that.
