Ending 2018 with a Bang! We’ve Earned Joint Commission Certification!

Written by LS Admin | Dec 26, 2018

GREAT NEWS!

We did it! LeaderStat is pleased to share that we have earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Health Care Staffing Services Certification. The Joint Commission is the nation’s oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care, and, luckily for us, in 2004 they established the Health Care Staffing Services Certification. This recognition is awarded for a two-year period and offers an independent and comprehensive evaluation of a staffing firm’s abilities to provide competent staffing services.

COMMITTED TO QUALITY

The Joint Commission, founded in 1951, accredits and certifies nearly 21,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States, and its accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of high quality. Their certification demonstrates LeaderStat’s commitment to providing qualified and competent healthcare professionals to our clients throughout the healthcare industry, and we are very pleased to receive this outside confirmation that we have been serving our client’s needs well.

HOW DID WE DO IT?

The Joint Commission surveyors, who are highly trained experts in the fields of medicine, nursing, and administration, among others, conducted a rigorous on-site review that evaluated our firm’s performance, ability to provide competent staffing services, continuing education and training, and placement criteria, among others. The standards we needed to meet were in the areas of leadership, human resources management, performance measurement and improvement, and information management.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

According to the Joint Commission’s website, health care staffing firms seek certification because it: demonstrates commitment to a higher standard of service; provides a framework for organizational structure and management; provides a competitive edge in the marketplace; and enhances staff recruitment and development. For LeaderStat specifically, it means that we have demonstrated “commitment to providing quality health care staffing services to health care organizations,” according to Patrick Phelan, executive director, Hospital Business Development, The Joint Commission. He went on to say, “We recognize and commend LeaderStat for its efforts to provide a safe, high-quality standard of service.”

 JUST THE BEGINNING

This assessment has secured us the Joint Commission’s certification, but we can’t rest on our laurels. We are now required to collect data to be submitted quarterly to the Joint Commission, and can expect another, unannounced visit from a surveyor in about two years. We’ll be ready!

PINCH US

It’s been a big year for us. Earlier in 2018 we were pleased that our blogs received the American Staffing Association’s Genius Award, then we were honored to be a Columbus Business First’s Best Places To Work, but to end 2018 by earning this certification is beyond the icing on the cake. “We are delighted to receive certification from The Joint Commission,” said Eleanor Alvarez, our CEO. “Health Care Staffing Certification demonstrates our commitment and accountability to clients and the health care professionals we employ. Certification establishes, defines and measures delivery on key functional areas and performance measures across the entire industry.”

We’ve had a great year and are looking forward to a fantastic 2019!
