Health Services Director (LPN) sought for Assisted Living and Memory Care community on the south end of Seattle, WA. If you are a Washington State Licensed Practical Nurse, and you have been in a clinical leadership role in a senior living setting, then this is an opportunity for you!

Job Description
Health Services Directors are responsible for leading and supervising a nursing unit. This position is ultimately responsible, and accountable, for the nursing care received by residents. The HSD will report to the Executive Director.

Specifically, HSD job duties include:
  • Directing the nursing program, including implementing new policies and procedures when necessary
  • Overseeing hiring, firing, and development of nursing staff
  • Communicating with families, residents, and physicians as needed
  • Developing a business plan and budget for the nursing unit
  • Participating in creating resident care plans and ensuring they are followed
  • Ensuring the nursing unit is compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations
Job Titles Related to Health Services Director (HSD)
Depending on the size and focus of the property, Health Services Directors sometimes go by other names, such as Director of Health and Wellness, Wellness Director, Clinical Director or Director of Clinical Services.

HSD Job Requirements
Candidates must be licensed practical nurses (LPN) in WA. 

Health Services Director jobs require a candidate who has significant critical care and operations management experience, a strong understanding of assisted living standards of care, and federal and state regulations. A high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, and compassionate leadership qualities are must-haves. Candidates must be able to think critically, and adapt quickly to new situations.

  • Licensed Practical Nurse license in Washington State, LPN in WA

  • Knowledge of the Washington State assisted living regulatory environment
  • Track record of survey success
  • Stable tenure in prior jobs
  • A gift for clear communication, both written and verbal, that includes laying out clear expectations and ensuring that they are met
  • An affinity for mentoring and educating teams
  • A love of seniors and strong desire to see them cared for well
