We currently have a position for a MD/DO at our Fairfax and Bamberg site site due to growth. Our providers typically see all ages and diagnosis codes. The offices are open Monday – Friday 8-5. The call schedule is by phone only and each provider in the rotation only takes call about 1 in 14 weeks. We have an Operations Manager, a CEO and a CMO that providers would have conversations with, but the administrative portion of the job would fall under the CEO and the medical under the CMO. Our E M R is Aprima and our providers seem to like it. Because we are partially federally funded, it provides accurate and reliable reports. We employ RN’s, LPN’s, and have nursing supervisors at each site as well as a Director of Nursing. Our credentialing process varies in SC but typically takes 45 days if the provider has a SC license. We have a credentialing/privileging packet we ask providers to complete and we do an extensive background check. The background company handles contacting the 3 professional references contained in the completed credentialing packet. Then the applicant must be approved by our Board.
We offer a salary, medical, dental, and vision insurance, CME time and stipend, some assistance with relocation, paid sick and paid vacation time, 11 paid holidays, 403(b) as well as STD, LTD, and Life insurance. We are an approved NHSC site with a HPSA score of 21. The initial interview is by phone with myself and the CEO. If all parties are still interested, we could have a site visit after that time. The site visit can also include the spouse and a tour of the areas. We are a very rural area and not all providers are familiar with the FQHC model. Our funds contribute a very small portion of our operating budget, therefore, we collect co-pays and bill insurances. Because we are a FQHC, we are able to offer a sliding discount to patients who meet family size and income requirements. We also have a pharmacy on site at the Fairfax location.
We want to be the provider of choice at all of our sites and are growing quickly. We currently have 7 sites where we provide care to the patients in the surrounding area. Our Fairfax site has been in operation since the late 1970’s and we acquired the Bamberg site in May of 2018.
