Ingleside Engaged Living Communities has retained LeaderStat Premier to assist in identifying a dynamic Executive Director to lead their Westminster at Lake Ridge campus in Lake Ridge, Virginia. Westminster at Lake Ridge opened in 1993 as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC, also known as a Life Plan community). As part of the Ingleside family of not-for-profit senior living communities, which includes Ingleside at Rock Creek and Ingleside at King Farm, sharing a common mission for more than 100 years: providing the highest quality service to aging adults of all faiths, throughout their retirement living.

Job Summary

The community Executive Director is responsible for executing strategic direction, operational excellence and continued financial success. The Executive Director will be highly knowledgeable regarding the future of senior living and will be innovative in their approach to identifying future delivery models for care and services to the elderly. They will embrace a person-centered philosophy.

This role requires a leader who can identify opportunities for improvement and who is adept at managing anticipated changes in a mature, purposeful, considerate and collaborative way. The successful candidate will build on the community’s many strengths while also assessing emerging trends in senior services that will further strengthen the organization’s ability to realize its mission.

Reporting Relationships

The community Executive Director will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer of Ingleside. As part of the Ingleside operational leadership team, the Executive Director will assist in developing the ongoing strategy and vision for the community and Ingleside.

Direct reports to the Executive Director include the directors of Dining Services; Spiritual Life; Life Enrichment, the administrators of Independent Living; and Healthcare Services, and executive assistant.

Key Responsibilities

· Responsible for the full life cycle of day-to-day operations of the community.

· Responsible for the Continuous Quality Improvement Program and for fostering a culture of compliance in our operations.

· Create a positive working environment. Recognize each colleague and promote cooperation and high standards of performance.

· Responsible for the financial aspects of the community. Ensure that the community is financially stable and that ethical and financially sound business practices are used.

· Collaborate with construction team colleagues related to the completion of ongoing development and coordinate the smooth operating handoff from the development team.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, seven to ten years Director/Administrator experience in a CCRC/Life Plan Community with Administrators license required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Incumbent should be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form, possess high-quality verbal and written communication ability, exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, and be knowledgeable on budgeting, strategic planning, and state and federal health and privacy regulations.
  • Must be proficient in the operation of various computer applications.
