#12188 - Corporate MDS/ Reimbursement Specialist (West Des Moines, Iowa)

Regional MDS/ Reimbursement Specialist (RN or LPN) needed to join a top regional provider of Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Memory Care in the greater Des Moines, Iowa area.

The Iowa licensed Registered or Licensed Nurse in this Regional MDS/ Reimbursement Specialist (RN or LPN) job will be:

  • Providing clinical support to our MDS team members at the property level and throughout the entire organization, traveling to up to 10-15 communities and working directly with MDS Coordinators to make sure everything is up to par from an auditing, quality and compliance perspective.
  • Evaluating documentation for compliance, ensuring strong quality and accurate clinical records for the overall conditions for our residents'
  • Offering education, performing MDS audits, and guiding teams as they follow the new PDPM regulatory changes
  • Leading quarterly MDS meetings and in-service meetings and participate in monthly Director of Nursing meetings
  • Continuing to stay informed about changes to state and federal regulations in order to keep company policy current
  • Investigating significant MDS errors to determine probable causes and develop prompt corrective action plans in partnership with the DON
  • Assessing the MDS for skilled residents at 5, 14, 30, 60, 90 days and on an as needed basis

Ideal candidates will bring:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Iowa
  • Several stable years of experience in a skilled nursing setting, SNF, LTC, or similar
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a MDS Coordinator leadership role preferred
  • A measurable track record of MDS department success in State and Federal Surveys, and track record of maximizing reimbursements
  • RAC-CT certification (a plus!)
  • Previous multi-site MDS experience (preferred)
  • An enjoyment of mentoring and educating teams
