Meet Jon, Director of LeaderStat Premier

Meet Jon Sammons, Director of LeaderStat Premier, our retained division. We recently sat down with Jon, socially distanced of course, and he shared a little bit about his role at LeaderStat.

1. How long have you been with LeaderStat?
I have been with LeaderStat a little over 8 wonderful years.

2. What is your position now and what are your primary responsibilities?
As the Director of LeaderStat Premier I oversee the executive leadership searches both on the permanent and interim leadership side. We place c-suite leadership and other critical leadership roles on an interim and permanent basis.

3. What does your typical day look like?
Thankfully a day never looks the same. From managing specific client engagements, to helping consult on succession planning, to working with our Premier search consultants, there is always some variety. I also get a chance to work with candidates in helping them find their next career path. Preparing and being a part of speaking engagements always is a joy of mine because of the interaction with others and learning best practices. I also enjoy getting the opportunity to consult with clients externally around leadership issues. Getting involved in developing new client engagements is another focus of mine. Finally I enjoy spending time collaborating within LeaderStat where we are always looking at ways to innovate and make us better.

4. What do you love most about your job?
I really enjoy problem solving and helping others. I feel like every day there are new challenges that our clients need us to solve. We are able to help them in such a way that it reflects ultimately in great care given to residents and opportunities for them to have a positive growth outlook going forward. By LeaderStat finding great leadership talent, we are many times able to secure the future for organizations.

5. What do you enjoy least?
The natural challenges that exist in a more digital focused world are becoming more prevalent. These days it is becoming easier and easier for us to not have to communicate as much on the phone. Text messaging and other forms of communication are great but I really do enjoy talking live with people.

6. What is your favorite movie and why?
There are a lot of really good movies I have seen over the years. Gladiator is probably my favorite. It is the epitome of a story where everything was taken from you, you are down and out and you have a choice of whether you give up or battle back to restore some peace in the kingdom. The way the story unfolds is very engaging!

7. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
When I am not ubering my 3 kids to sporting events (which I love), I enjoy coaching youth sports and running marathons/triathlons. I love being active!
