Eleanor N. Alvarez, BA, MAT, MAgS
President of LeaderStat LLC, Eleanor has more than 25 years of management experience in the long term care field, both as a provider and a consultant. Her areas of expertise include long-term care and sub-acute operations, culture change initiatives, facility analysis and acquisitions, and facility start-ups and program development. Eleanor is a licensed nursing home administrator and has had operational management responsibility for more than 20 facilities. She has opened skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, developed numerous high acuity specialty units and conducted the due diligence process for two large acquisitions for a national LTC company. Eleanor has also leased and operated a nursing center as an independent operator.
As the President of LeaderStat, Eleanor provides consulting and management support to more than 500 long term care clients nationally. Her firm, LeaderStat, LLC, provides a full range of clinical, operational and financial consulting for independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and continuing care retirement communities. Eleanor has conducted comprehensive assessments, market studies, financial improvement strategies, and new product design and implementation programs for senior communities nationwide. In addition to a BA in History from Hobart & William Smith College and an MA in Teaching from Colgate University, she received her Masters of Aging Services from The Erickson School in December of 2008. Eleanor is also proud to serve on the Board of National Church Residences (NCR), a not-for-profit organization.
Barmi Akbar, MS, MBA
Vice President of Operations
Barmi has extensive experience in the healthcare industry, working for leading national post-acute care providers, representing nearly 800 business units in North America. In his tenure, he has successfully held leadership roles responsible for multi-facility operations, business development, financial strategic analysis, in addition to other areas of healthcare delivery and support. Barmi earned his MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University and a MS from the University of Toledo. At LeaderStat, he works to expand the company into new markets and product lines.
Director of Consulting
Cathy has extensive background in post-acute and senior care, including leadership positions at a large hospital health system, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. She is skilled in ensuring coordination of personnel and utilization of resources to directly serve the needs of the elderly. As Director of Consulting, she can assist clients with operational assessments, care delivery integration and implementation across the healthcare continuum. Cathy has presented at local, regional and state conferences on a variety of topics. Cathy is also a Certified INTERACT Educator. She works to expand the company into new markets and product lines.
Lisa Hohlbein, RN, RAC-MT, CDP, CADDCT
Director of Clinical Reimbursement
Lisa brings over 20 years of healthcare experience and offers cutting edge expertise in the areas of the RAI process and clinical reimbursement systems. Her areas of expertise include performing and overseeing various reimbursement reviews for Medicaid and PPS in multi-state, skilled nursing facilities, long-term care and sub-acute care assessment and operations, as well as leadership and team building. Lisa has presented workshops on a variety of topics at the facility, regional, state, national and international (Canada) levels. She is a Master Teacher with AANAC, has presented at AANAC's biannual conferences, and is a member of AANAC's Expert Advisory Panel (EAP) and Editorial Advisory Board (EAB). She has been a contributor to MDS Alert and LTC Leader. Lisa is also a Certified INTERACT Educator, a Certified Dementia Practitioner and a Certified Alzheimer's Disease Dementia Care Trainer.
Director of Interim Services
Anna directs all aspects of interim placements, including contractual agreements and the overall management of our interim consultants. Industry leaders call her to access the highest quality leadership in a quick and seamless manner. Her team of consultants has built a reputation on outcomes and customer satisfaction. She has 15+ successful years of experience in the long term care consulting field. Anna's team continues to retain and recruit the best interim leadership in the post-acute and senior service industry.
Director of LeaderStat Premier
Jon brings extensive experience in the healthcare executive search industry, recently holding the position as Vice President for a leading search firm that specializes in retained search. His areas of expertise are in managing searches in the executive level ranging from the Director level to the C-Suite. In his tenure, he has been successful in managing more than 150 national retained searches in healthcare. Jon holds a BS in Business Administration from Hanover College. At Leaderstat, Jon is responsible for the development and growth of the Premier Division for retained search.
Karen Brown, SPHR
Director of Operations
Karen is responsible for financial reporting, human resources, payroll, and office systems management. She holds a BS in Communications from Ohio University and a BS in Accounting from Franklin University. Karen joined LeaderStat in April, 2004.
Director of Recruitment
Julie has been in healthcare for 20+ years holding positions such as Director of Rehab Services at Marion General Hospital, and Senior Recruiting Consultant at various healthcare focused firms. Julie holds a BS in Occupational Therapy from The Ohio State University. She directs the recruiting team out of our Columbus, Ohio and Scottsdale, Arizona offices in permanent placement, business development, and serving clients in their critical hiring needs.
Deborah Taylor, MPA, BBA
Director of Business Development
As a marketing and business development executive her 20+ years of experience and expertise in strategic planning, service line development, physician relations and community affairs assist clients improve census and profitability. She has successfully worked for both public and private healthcare companies, including acute and post-acute care providers. Her strengths include market development, relationship management, collateral development and public speaking. Prior to joining LeaderStat, Deborah demonstrated successful outcomes in marketing leadership roles in Ohio.
Executive Search Consultant
Jane joined the executive search profession after a career in corporate communications and branding strategy for a wide range of sectors including Fortune 500 industrials, international healthcare organizations and academic medical centers, leading energy and financial services corporations, higher education and the arts. Prior to joining LeadersStat Premier, Jane held positions with two highly regarded executive search firms where she led searches for C-suite executive leadership for healthcare and nonprofit organizations. Jane also led her own boutique search firm specializing in healthcare, pharmaceutical and biotechnology search, motivated by a life-long fascination with medicine and science. A former marketing and branding consultant with a major regional healthcare system in Ohio, she brings an insider's perspective of a successful and growing organization. She earned her BA from Smith College and BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art where she also served as adjunct design faculty. She is a Certified Diversity Recruiter, Certified Internet Recruiter and Certified Social Media Sourcing Recruiter.
Audra is responsible for post-acute care and Senior Living executive level placement in the Great Lakes region. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from The University of Toledo. Prior to joining LeaderStat, Audra spent seven years in the healthcare industry bringing experience in the area of sales and marketing for Senior Living as well as Home Health and Hospice care. She has significant experience in lead generation, management and has owned a business in the Michigan area.
Jami has a BS in Management from The University of Hartford, West Hartford Connecticut. She brings many years of Marketing and Admissions experience in the long-term care field to the LeaderStat team and has been employed by both national and regional healthcare companies. She is responsible for post-acute care and senior living executive-level and nurse management placement in Pennsylvania, the Mid-Atlantic, Great Lakes, Midwest and Northeast Regions.
Anne Napierala, LNHA
Anne is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the State of Ohio and holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Services-Long Term Care Administration from Ohio University. She is responsible for post-acute care and senior living executive-level and nurse management placement in the Southeast Region. Prior to joining LeaderStat, she worked as a Marketing and Activities Assistant for a Skilled Nursing Facility and briefly as a Technical Recruiter for energy.
Anthony is responsible for post-acute care and senior living executive-level and nurse management placement in the Southwest, Texas and the Plain States. He holds a BS in Biomedical Science from Marquette University. Before joining LeaderStat, Anthony spent three years recruiting scientific professionals for a fortune 500 company.
Michelle’s principal focus is responsibility for post-acute care and senior living executive-level and nurse management placement in Southwest, Texas and the Plains States. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington in Seattle. Previously, she recruited executive and administrative level business professionals for nearly six years for a firm in Southern California.
Mimi is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. She holds a BS in Public Relations from Kent State University and is also a Certified Social Sourcing Recruiter.
Operations Manager - Interim Services
Jordan is the Operations Manager of Interim Services for Leaderstat. He has a strong focus in developing new client relationships and interim business nationwide. Jordan earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Ohio University. Prior to joining LeaderStat, he spent time recruiting in the IT field, as well as recruiting and managing operations in homecare.
Jeremy’s primary focus is executive recruiting for Interim Services in post-acute and senior living facilities. He focuses on finding that unique leader and working directly with them to place in exciting opportunities. He previously recruited qualified traveling Registered Nurses for one of the fastest growing companies in the United States. He also has experience managing one of the largest Hertz offices in the Columbus, Ohio market. Jeremy started his career in the banking industry for a $14 billion dollar bank holding three different positions including: Sales Associate, Lender, and Accounting Intern. He holds a Bachelor in Business Management from Western Illinois University graduating in 2008.
Data Management Coordinator
Katie is responsible for maintaining our database of national healthcare companies and contacts to ensure our data is accurate, consistent and up-to-date. She holds a BA in International Studies from Ohio State University and an MS in Library and Information Science from Kent State University.
Business Office Coordinator
Angie is responsible for the accounting, bookkeeping and event planning functions for LeaderStat. Angie has extensive experience in accounting, payroll and office management, with additional background in HR, marketing communications and database administration.
Aubrey is the Administrative Coordinator for LeaderStat. Her job responsibilities include coordinating the logistics of the Independent Contractors in the field as well as interim job placement. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from The Ohio State University. Prior to joining LeaderStat, she worked as an Admissions and Marketing Director for a skilled nursing facility and also worked as a Staffing Coordinator for a temporary staffing company.
